De-sexualising the mind by Zanele Muholi, South African photographer, is an act of self-sacrifice. As a photographer, Zanele has, at times, photographed her subjects nude, this is a powerful statement in which she becomes the subject and defiantly so. The installation is vivid and questioning at the same time. The viewer is invited, it seems, to explore their own sexuality or gender identity in order to move beyond the fear barrier.
