A Beginning…

Transitioning is not circumcision, circumcision is not transitioning;
One is the beginning of life, refreshing; the other robs one of life.
Our innate fears loom on every horizon, a mirage or a starved wolf.
Women fear the potential lose of potential husbands, of families,
Men fear the potential lose of potential wives, of the idle of home.
Diversity is more than the binary fixation’s rigid malevolence.
Diversity is nature at its best why are we so fearful to let nature be.
Diversity is the smack in the face of our lot; our sartorial challenge.
Guilt sets in of the fall, of mortal sin and the many deceptions borne
Of our delusions of grandeur masking our fear of old age, of death!
Coming face to face with diversity we raise the alarm in mock fun,
When the bearer of the gem of diversity speaks we cower, we cower.
We fear friendship with the gem and label it, freak some, freak some
Forgetting the freak-some-ness of evolution, the newness, even ours.
Friends become accomplices with enemies, enemies turn monstrous
When our mind’s are taxed we evoke God’s counsel but act on ours,
When diversity exposes us we evoke the beast in us and say its god,
Transitioning is not circumcision, circumcision is not transitioning;
One is the beginning of life, refreshing; the other robs one of life…
