Nigeria has lost it – setting soldiers police on people running away from a pipeline fire – WTF. I just wish people would take to the streets like in iran right now.
All I see is a blank post. I though it was my office computer, but even on the home computer its the same. I haven’t been able to watch whatever it is you guys are talking about.
Sokari, it’s even more religious than you might think. The background music is in Sesotho, by the Soweto Gospel choir. Beautiful piece of music, even if we should be thinking more of humanity than religion in what is happening.

The religious comment comes as the person behind the video claims the killings as part of a Nigerian religious war between Christians and Muslims (though he doesnt mention Islam – that is what he is referring to). But yes the music is beautiful and this IS about our humanity or in this case complete lack of it. Beyond these two killings are similar ones taking place all the time!
From All Africa.com
One of the soldiers asks in pigin English “Wey the camera?”Another soldier on bare feet, carrying a riffle asks “Who you be?” (meaning who are you?). The terrified man is seen tapping the lifeless body of his brother with his right hand.
The soldier repeats the question “Who you be?” The man answers “Boma”
“Where are you from?”
“Bonny” the man answers.
“Boom, boom” the soldier shoots him on the head and the man dies instantly.
Now I’ve seen the video I understand. I couldn’t help breaking out in tears when the second man was murdered in cold blood. I can’t but wonder how those who knew him in life would feel, watching him being so brutally murdered. Nigeria’s military is a disgrace to our country. I am ashamed to be a Nigerian.
Anengiyefa@ This is not about Nigerians – it is about the corrupt facist leadership that has no boundaries nor control over its armed forces. On the contrary they are encouraged to behave in this brutal fashion.
Well actually, the conduct of the Nigerian military is a manifestation of the general lack of discipline and utter contempt for the rule of law that holds sway in Nigeria. No it isn’t about Nigerians, but it is about the situation in Nigeria, a man-made situation brought about by Nigerians.
@anengiyefa
I couldn’t agree with you more Anengiyefa.
I strongly condemn the religion perspective the video producer was pulling into the issue. It has nothing to do with religion but every to do with crime and corruption. Oluniyi David Ajao´s last blog ..Zain Ghana and ‘their’ zainportal.com
Jesus…
I didn’t want to watch, but I started. And then I decided to stop. I unfortunately do not think my system can handle this right now.

I’m afraid taking to the streets is beginning to look like the more viable option. I wish it didn’t, but…

Anengiyefa@ Dont know why – the video is still up there on the blog. Here is the URL from you tube so you could try and watch it direct.

Please ignore the Christian reference – it is unfortunate that the guy sees it that way – this has nothing to do with religion.
