The number attending the GAFCON conference includes, I believe, just under 300 bishops; the rest of the 1000 or so participants are priests, deacons and laypeople including the bishops' wives. Their claims to represent the majority of world Anglicans should be treated with caution; although they are the leaders of churches with very large numbers, within those churches there are many who don't agree with their leaders' policy on gay people.
