    omodudu @absolutely. if each one of the $100 lap top kids spend as much time surfing as we all do, the continent may come to a standstill!

    Already though I see the Nigerian education secretary is resisting on expanding the laptop scheme further on the grounds of cost. Excuse me, isn’t this the same Nigeria that is the economic powerhouse of West Africa, a state sitting on vast oil wealth, and can find plenty of money to come up with show stopping economic “mega cities”?

    I’ll be curious to see how these OLPC initiatives end up working and to see if laptop schools in africa can be more productive than in US. A lot of teachers think laptops are more disruptive in classes than helpful…
