Immigration US: Attitudes Survey
11/06/2007Chris Weber a PhD Candidate at Stony Brook University has asked me if I would publish this survey on online news coverage of immigration in the US.
The survey is meant to gauge people’s general beliefs about the immigration issue, as well as their reactions to news media portrayels of the immigration debate. As I’m sure you’re aware, news media sources vary greatly in their presentation of the issue, from more liberal views (e.g., PBS, NPR), to more conservative (FOX news, Lou Dobbs). We’re interested in people’s reactions to these presentations, which is reason for the short news clip in the middle of the survey.
We are interested in your thoughts on this important political controversy. If you decide to participate in our survey, you will start off by answering a few questions about yourself and your political attitudes. Then you will watch a short news clip of an immigration story. After the clip, we will ask you some questions about your position on immigration policy. In total, the survey should take about 15 minutes to complete. The survey is completely anonymous and you can skip any questions you do not wish to answer.
