It must be done
I went to a meeting to day and I said my name is “Sokari and I am a blogger but havent blogged for 5 days and now I am feeling very strange” (mi nombre es Sokari. estoy un blogger pero no he blogged por 5 días y ahora estoy muy extrano – feel free to correct this). Joking aside, I came home and this was in my in box and I had to publish it – thanks everyone!
I received this from Sokwanele : Remember Murambatsvina!

Today is the second anniversary of the occasion when, the grubby little dictator, Robert Mugabe, openly declared his contempt for the man in the street, placed there and suffering because of his economic policies. In an ensuing “moment of madness” Bob, spurred by his secret service, declared that these people were filth and had to be fumigated, removed like cockroaches from the simple homes they had lived in for years.

Yeah, blogging is so addictive, isn’t it?! If we’re not careful it will take away our “real” lives from us… That’s what’s starting to worry me already at this stage when I’m just an “infant” blogger!
As for the Murambatsvina horror, are there any updates on the plight of those evictees?
PS: since you asked, let me try to help: “mi nombre es Sokari. Soy una blogger pero no he blogado por 5 días y ahora mi siento muy extrana”
I have written to Sokwanele to ask them for an update.
Thanks for the Spanish corrections – oh dear have a long way to go! always get soy / estoy mixed up though i must admit it did seem odd to me to use it twice at the same time!
Sokari,
Glad that you are back. We need strong voices such as yours, too.
Happy…Happy to know you are back. Ignore our apathy or indifference. Sokari, you are making a difference in more ways than you may know.
Sokari,
Your work has a blogger has changed my life forever. Believe in that always. Everyday I think of you and your work and how you brought me Victor Julie. Everyday I learn something new, either from reading your blog or by how you have taught me to think about my world and my place in it.
Always be kinder to yourself than you think you should be.
Take care,
Jay
Thanks Jay – on the last one especially – this is true!
