5 things
Thought I had managed to get out of this 5 crazy things about you meme! First I was tagged by Hash (White African) and decided just to pretend I hadnt seen it. Then today I find that Daudi of Mental Acrobtics has also tagged me so now I feel obliged to produce someting. Still I am happy to know that I am not the only one with a little tagophobia (see Kenyan Pundit). So well here goes
1. I love antique cars – well cars with curves and style eg 1970 280SL Benz; 1960s Citroen DC, Peugeot 404; and two I have owned in the past – 69 VW Westphalia camper and Triumph TR6 banana yellow sports coupe – loved it
2.I started riding horses in Nigeria as a young child and stopped when I was 33 – no longer had the time, different world, different life, I dunno – I was lucky I never fell off, most of all I loved riding at a slow canter and taking short jumps – great sense of freedom, kind of like dancing!
3.I am very very stubborn and contrary – the more you push the more stubborn I get.
4. Thank goodness there are only two more – I like Test Cricket – well its said now so there!
5. Mental says he learned to drive in 3 countries – well I learned to drive in three also – Nigeria, US and UK. I would say learning to drive in Nigeria from an early age (about 15 or so) was the best – and the worst of driving: how to cut in front of oncoming car; how to park in one move; how to force yourself onto a major road when no one wants to let you in – just move and unless the driver is another Nigeria s/he will stop; probably more but cant think of what right now as I try and avoid driving most of the time.
PS – just realised I forgot to tag bloggers – Thinkers Room, Zuky This is Not My Country The Concoction The World According to Adure

Did you learn to drive in Lagos or Port Harcourt [the busy parts]? When it comes to dangerous driving, I think those two spots rule.
Nice Sokari! Clearly you don’t read AskThisBlackWoman! I tagged you last week!

What is “Test Cricket”?
Kym@ shame! my excuse – I have been very laxed in reading other peoples blogs due to reduced internet time – uhhhhhhhhh! I was doing a roundup of African blogs which is why I came across Mentals – is that a valid excuse?
Test cricket – you really want to know? ok its played with a ball, a bat and a wicket and goes on for 4/5 days, West Indians and Indians love it as do the English but when played in England it is rained off and just for the record England are the worst team on earth! Oh yes it is only really played by countries that were once colonized by the Brits ( which means the English as Scots, Welsh and Irish dont play as far as I know)
Okay, but I thought it was just called Cricket. I figured “Test Cricket” was like the junior league or something.
Anyway, my meme tag asked SIX peculiar things about you… You owe us one more!
In this case I mean international cricket matches as opposed to local ones – that are played over a period of 5 days with specific rules – I should have just said I like international cricket Test and one day matches!
Another one! This is like “True confessions” or something – Ok I like police / crime shows like “The Bill” (UK) and “Law & Order” thats my crap TV popcorn brain dead activity of an evening!
Sorry Azuka – I learned in Lagos and you can add making third lanes to the list of bad behaviour!
#3 shocks me!
Well, I only did five too ! Thanks for the tag, Sokari, it’s nice to do something frivolous for a change!
