Whilst I was in Johannesburg I visited the Apartheid museum. On my way back the taxi driver asked me if I had ever visited the Middle East – I have, Lebanon, Syria and Egypt. He asked if I knew what was happening in Palestine. I am not sure why he asked me these questions as it was not part of any previous discussion. Nonetheless I tried to explain to him the similarities between apartheid South Africa and Israel’s occupation of Palestine and in particular their recent offensive over the past 6 months. Since August 20, 2005, IDF troops have killed 694 Palestinians and wounded four thousand.
The march by the women of Beit Hanoun brought back memories of the marches shown on video at the museum by South African women in the 1950s protesting against the pass laws. Yes there are differences but lets stick with the similiarities. Women trying to protect their world against the destruction by a violent and oppresive regime. In this case the Zionist terorrist state of Israel that is bent on bringing Gaza to its knees. How can anyone except the Israeli’s justify the wounding and murder of unarmed women and then come out and have the nerve to claim the women were protecting Hamas members who were never found.
On November the 8th not satisified with the murder of women the Israeli shells killed 18 Palestinians whilst asleep in their beds.
Haitham Sabbah’s blog has been at the forefront of reporting and writing commentary on Israel’s attacks on Lebanon and Palestine. Haitham has received much criticism from sections of the blogosphere and has been accused of everything from being anti-semitic to Jew hating neither of which in my opinion are true. Enough is enough – once and for all the truth about what Israel is doing in the occupied terrorities and what they did in Lebanon and continue to do needs to be exposed. The smooth talking, unemotional responses by the Israeli government’s media needs to be seen for what it is – repulsive justifications for murder and a systematic policy of destruction of Gaza and the West Bank. Every time something happens they present themselves in their offices with some excuse or other as if it is OK. But it is not OK. It is time to take action in any way you can to “TAKE ACTION AGAINST ISRAELI WAR CRIMES IN GAZA AND THE APARTHEID WALL”.
Massacre in Gaza: I remained silent, for I was not Palestinian
“Withdrawing” implies, in whatever vague and euphemistic sense, an end, or at least, a waning of hoslities. But today I woke to discover that the Israeli Army has perpetrated a massacre on a scale unseen in Gaza for a long time: so far, 22 dead: Eight children; seven women. All members of the same family. Please imagine 22 members of YOUR family, dead, in one fell swoop, and that the deaths are brushed aside as unfortunate mistakes from an otherwise morally superior, well-intentioned army. There can BE NO good intentions deriving from an Army ordered to fire heavy-grade artillery shells within 100 metres of civlian areas. None.

Tuesday: 8 Palestinans are killed by Israeli soldiers in separate incidents. Hamas fires 6 rockets into Israel. Israel says it has completed its week long Gaza operation in Beit Hanoun which killed 60 gunman and civilians.
Wednesday: Nineteen civilians killed, artillary barrage in Beit Hanoun, including 13 members of a single Palestinian family.
