Meanwhile back in JoBurg I had one of the most exciting nights since I arrived. I woke up at about 1am to go to the loo only to discover the most gigantum brown speckled spider looking creature crawling up the curtain -I dislike spiders but I can deal with them but this monster was on another level. I didnt want to wake Ug and Mich so crept out and got to brooms to try and kill the – well you know what. But my squeals of fear woke everyone up. I saw the look of disgust on Ug when I said it was a spider until she herself saw it and jumped back in horror. Eventually she managed to kill it and sweep it up. We found some paper to wrap it up in and then to our horror there was another creature lying right by where Mich’s head had been. I said “what is that” Mich screamed so we all screamed. A scorpian no less – we killed the beast as it curled up its tail ready to pounce. We stripped all the bedding checked under beds behind curtains, suitcases books etc but that was it. I had a whiskey, Ug a fag tried to calm ourselves down with some candles and Ug strumming the guitar – eventually we all went to bed with lights on so no more opening windows in my room day or night!
Am at a different internet cafe here in Melville proper in some posh shopping resturant center with a mad man that wont stop talking about the state of SA schools and drug dealers and being exploited by Microsoft whilst stuffing himself with cream cakes – yuk and now he is onto the “satanic Monsanto” well i have to agree with him on that one!
Was going to post some SA news from the papers but cant be bothered with it anymore! Havent had the time to read any blogs lately and am beginning to really understand how difficult blogging is when you dont have internet access in your home –
