Ghana keeps pride for 81 minutes!

Ghana had nothing to loose except possibly their pride – they always looked like maybe they could take the game with great play from Appiah, Amoah, Pantsil and Mensah but poor finishing and of course once they had settled down and remembered the D word. Essien’s absense had to be crucial – what with the ref dishing out yellow cards to Ghana like ballons at a kids party but I always felt a goal was possible and even a win. Whatever – I think we can all live with loosing to a not so great Brazil but Gyan’s dive was blatant and shameful – and Thinkers “man” – well he’s still singing – scores a goal and then stands around for 89 minutes waiting for someone to pass him the ball – may be if he did a bit more work……..! but then he doesnt have to I guess.

Bloody sad day when I find I am left with supporting Les Bleus but then again they are more or less Les Africaines – the only Nigerian, only black face, only female supporter in the village and only person supporting France! I am going for a long walk instead. And before anyone else mentions my promise to Mshairi which I have broken but she explained so I think its OK! Anyway she is a Gooner! I’M OUT!

I wanted Ukraine to win and Ukraine won and I also wanted France to win and my wish came true.

Ghana tried and did not disappoint us.

I believe that the best African nations in soccer did not make it to Germany and you know them.

    Well done and God bless.

Yea Ghana tried – i checked the possession and it was 51/49 which is damn good – but I hate diving and that dive was stupid – still both them and Ivory Coast showed we are strong and not to be taken for granted – roll on SA – we will see how we do on our own soil! But hey they could have won that game – no kidding!
ahhh kisses & roses na u be dis?

Nairobi almost came to a standstill to watch that game!

If Ghana had been able to convert even a quarter of their attempts they’d have come away with that game!

But the officiating of that game at times was dodgy .. that second goal in particular! Adriano i believe was offside

Yes- the possession stats prove the point and I also agree with you on the officiating – i cant remember now but at least 1/2 of the yellow cards were questionable. I began to wonder if Brazil were meant to win this game if you get my meaning.

Of what use is a team that has ball possession but cannot score? Hello somebody!

Does this remind you of Nigeria?

David – i agree with u on your comment but i also mentioned the inability to finish and the defense at least for the first 20 minutes was diabolical – this is a problem for african teams we cannot finish, lack pace and our defenses are crap – we need to work on these things – still Ghana tried

But undoubtedly the man of the match was Kingston. That guy put on a performance and a half! Hats off to him!
