Banish this man!
On Wednesday Kenyan Justice minister, Kiraitu Murungi made a disgusting and extremely insulting remark by saying that "donar criticism of the government’s fight against corruption was "like raping a woman who is already willing"
Kenyan women have demonstrated outside the Justice Minister’s office demanding that he resign immediately. Angry Kenyans called newsrooms and radio stations protesting about the remarks. Amnesty Interational spokeswoman,Miriam Kaiga said
As the minister in charge of legislating against crime, his interference can only be taken to mean that he is not to be relied on to introduce laws to deter this inhuman crime against women……Kiraitu is an embarrassment to other men who are fathers, husbands, brothers and relatives of women who count on them for protection against sexual violence.
She went on to say that corruption and lack of medical care for surviviors of rape including those infected with HIV/AIDS, were the leading sources of poverty in the country.
This is another example of the misogyny of African patriarchs – the same ones who try to prevent us from speaking about our vaginas and our bodies. The ones I call "the moralisers and the righteous". Mr Murungi must resign immediately and furthermore must be banished from ever holding public office again. This would set an example clearly indicating to all men and women what is and what is not acceptable. Whilst men in particular hold such deep seated ideas about women and their sexuality, there is no hope for justice for any woman who is subject to the vile act of rape.

Well I say they have every right to be outraged and then some. If their own government has zero concern for their health and their bodies, then I say the women of Kenya have the right to rebel against the gov’t, and demand for one pays attention to their needs.
ah the wisdom of the african leader . . .
